3 Best Of The Best Remote Desktop Access Software That Are Free

by MAHESH MOHAN on October 1, 2018

The Best Remote Desktop Access Software

There was a time when I (and probably you) struggled with Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop software on a Windows PC to remotely access someone else’s computer. It was a terrible experience and never worked for me as it involved quite a few network settings and protocols — which I still don’t understand much.

And there were few free and premium remote desktop connection managers like LogMeIn, GoToMyPC, etc. at that time. But I was least interested in trying those remote desktop connection managers as it was of no use to me.

Then, with the advent of the smartphone era, I tried remote desktop apps for mobile like Splashtop, PocketCloud, LogMeIn, Join.me, and TeamViewer, etc. and almost all of them failed to impress me. It was simply not the kind of productivity apps that I wanted or even care about.

My impression completely changed when Microsoft and Google introduced their own Remote Desktop apps for web and mobile a few years back. The good thing is… both works perfect and is free without any restriction.

So here is a quick review (plus comparison) of the 3 (and only 3) best remote desktop access software that are free.

1. Chrome Remote Desktop

Chrome Remote Desktop is a Google Chrome app that lets you access all your computer(s) from another computer or from your mobile device(s). It can be used for a variety of purposes like to access your own computer from a remote location or to provide (or get) remote support or to securely access your files or software applications on your computer from a mobile device, and so on.

What I really like about Chrome Remote Desktop is that it’s linked to your Google account. So there’s no such thing as an extra user id or special codes to access your computer from another device of yours. And the installation and setup is pretty simple. All you need to do is install the Chrome Remote Desktop app on all your devices (computers, tablets, mobiles) and you’re good to go. Over 71 Amazon Products & Services You Probably Don’t Know

All Things Amazon

First Published: September 26, 2016; Last Updated: Monday, September 3, 2018.

Amazon ($AMZN) is the largest retailer on the web. I’m not an Amazon fanatic but I like to shop online (or on Amazon). And I believe Amazon will become a lot more bigger than what it is today.

For me Amazon was all about online shopping and shopping only until a few years go, and then I came to know about its dominance in the cloud computing space.

That’s how I became curious and made a plan to list all its products and services and app (or this very blog post).

So today, I’m listing all the products and services and apps by Amazon. And I will be updating this article as they launch more products and services.

Todoist vs. Wunderlist vs. Any.do: The Ultimate Comparison Of The Best To-do List Apps With Pros & Cons

by MAHESH MOHAN on March 18, 2018

Wunderlist vs. Any.do vs. Todoist

There are several to-do list apps on the web that helps you to get things done. However, the problem is finding the perfect task manager because there are so so many of them — both free and paid.

I have tried a bunch of them over the past several years and can definitely say that there is no such thing as a perfect to-do app. It’s all about your requirements as all of them offers a variety of features. It also means that if you are looking for a task manager with a particular feature then chances are it already exists.

Today, I have cherry-picked three of the best to-do apps, namely Todoist, Wunderlist, and Any.do, that are intuitive, feature-rich, powerful, and massively popular. And I have limited the list to just “3” as I believe they are the best of the best and is probably the only to-do list apps you’ll ever need to get things done.

Note: I have shortlisted, reviewed, and compared the free plans of Todoist, Wunderlist, and Any.do based on the criteria that I have set personally. But I believe it’s comprehensive enough and have highlighted almost all the aspects of the aforementioned apps (citing the web as well as the iOS platforms).

The 100+ Most Useful Websites For (Almost) Anyone And Everyone

by MAHESH MOHAN on March 4, 2018

The Fantastic Hundred Websites

Google search, Bing search, or Yahoo search. But have you ever tried the DuckDuckGo search? It’s a search engine that doesn’t track you and has everything (like suggestions, image search, video search, etc.) you expect from a search engine.

There’s a very good chance that we end up using only the most popular websites on the web because they are just everywhere. However, it doesn’t really mean that they’re the best websites on the Internet.

Needless to say, “popular” isn’t necessarily the best. And that’s how I decided to come up with a list of extremely useful (and probably less-known) websites on the web.

The Fantastic Hundred Websites

Whether you’re a student, a professional, or a homemaker, I have hand-picked one hundred most useful websites for you — to get things done, or to spend time with, or to find something interesting. Over 501 Blogging Tools (Free & Premium) You’ll Ever Need

by MAHESH MOHAN on March 3, 2018

Blogging Tools 501

Bloggers can’t live without tools! I mean, without their favorite blogging tools. And you probably know that there are hundreds of thousands of free and premium blogging tools on the web that lets you streamline your research, writing, and publishing process.

Over the past several months I have published a variety of tools lists: Productivity Tools 101, Social Media Tools 101, Internet Marketing Tools 101, Content Marketing Tools 101, Search Engine Optimization Tools 101, etc. But today, I just want to focus on only one thing — “Blogging”.

The idea is to list some of the best blogging tools out there. And the good thing….. most of them are free or freemium or at least comes with a free trial (there are exceptions too, btw).

Also, you almost definitely won’t need all the tools that are listed here but over time you will see yourself trying many of them (as they are all related in one way or the other). And that’s why I have perfectly organized all of them into categories and subcategories — to make the list easy to scan.

The Best Of The Best Blogging Tools — Curated!

A few years ago I tried to come up with a similar list, as a web directory for bloggers and marketers, but then I found it difficult to update as the list was not properly organized or categorized. And that’s how I started working on this list.

It’s your ultimate blogging tools and resources (or at least I think so). However, it’s very, very likely that I might have missed your favorite blogging tool as most of the tools that I have mentioned on this list are my personal favorites or something that I already knew existed. The Best Dictation (Voice To Text) Software Is Here (And It’s Free!)

by MAHESH MOHAN on February 10, 2018

“Voice typing…” on Google Docs

I’m a desktop kind of person who almost always prefer a computer over a phone — unless I’m away from my desk. I have already mentioned on several blog posts that I take a lot of time to create a blog post — from researching to writing to editing to formatting.

And that’s why I’m always trying to find a way to streamline my content creation process — to make it more consistent, stress-free, and efficient. Obviously, the biggest task involved in publishing a blog post is actually the writing process itself.

Once the first draft gets done, the rest happens like magic!

Don’t Miss: The Fantastic Ten Tools (Free) To Skyrocket Your Productivity

Over the past several months/years, I tried several dictation or voice to text software — including the super-popular Dragon Speech Recognition Software (but I tried it several years back) — and nothing really worked for me.

Not anymore!

Meet “Voice typing…” On Google Docs

I was an active Google Docs user until few months back and then almost stopped using it. A couple of weeks back I noticed that Google introduced “Voice typing…” to Google Docs. However, it’s not supported in its iOS (on iPhone and iPad) apps, yet. [Read more…] about The Best Dictation (Voice To Text) Software Is Here (And It’s Free!)

The 100 Best Tech & Marketing Blogs You Should Be Following

by MAHESH MOHAN on February 1, 2018

The 100 Best Blogs

I have always wanted to create a list of blogs that I love to read, share and link to because I think it’d be nice to see them in a listicle rather than just adding them to Feedly (my favorite RSS reader). Moreover, I didn’t want to add tons of blogs to my RSS reader as I hate to see hundreds of unread items.

And hey, you should also have a list of your favorite blogs. You know why? Because if you are a blogger, or marketer, or whatever you are supposed to stay updated about what’s happening in your industry. The idea is to stay focused all the time.

By the way, you DO NOT have to follow hundreds of blogs in your niche. Just a dozen of them is pretty enough. Because you will see yourself landing on more and more related blogs and blog posts as you go.

For instance, it’s been a month since I checked my Feedly feeds and now it’s got over 600 unread items (and counting). The problem is I was reading less and less all these days and weeks as I already had enough research stuff in my Evernote and saved for later articles in my Pocket.

And yet, I was landing on a lot of interesting blogs and blog posts and whatnot. In fact, that’s what inspired me to write this very blog post.
