Have you ever noticed the “As Seen On” label on many (or at least a few) ‘popular’ blogs by pro-bloggers, agencies, or startups? Or, do you know how easy it is to get featured on some of the most prestigious websites on the web?
Well I have realized that it’s a lot more easier to get featured on Forbes, Entrepreneur, Inc., Huffington Post, etc. than writing and publishing a blog post on my own blog.
You know how? That’s right — it’s mostly “paid”.
It takes several hours to compose and publish a blog post on my blog but it appears like it takes just few hundred dollars (or sometimes less than $100 if we deliver the content) to get featured on some of the most popular websites on the web.
When you visit any of those blogs with an “As Seen On” label, they will make you believe that they got featured on Forbes, Entrepreneur, HuffPost, Yahoo Finance, Inc., etc. but there’s a good chance that it’s “paid”.
Also, it appears like some of them even redefined the term “As Seen On”. Because when you see the label “AS SEEN ON — Forbes, Inc, or Entrepreneur” on a blog, you’d expect its author was interviewed by those ezines, right?
I know that’s what it supposed to mean. But today, a good percentage of the (beginner or pro) bloggers show off this label just because there’s a linkback (organic or paid, we never know!) from those ezines. [Read more…] about “As Seen On” And The Blogosphere
