Google’s PageRank is vital in building traffic to your web site for many reasons. Before discussing why, here are some quick brush ups. The Page Rank is based upon the links between your web site and other sites, in fact specifically between web pages, as it links individual pages rather the complete web sites which interests Google and this is why Google lists individual web pages and not domains. There is a method which Google uses to find the value of each and every link to your web site that is based on the Page Rank of the web page providing the link and along with number of other links leaving that page.
You may get the Page Rank from the Google PageRank bar on Google’s Toolbar - it’s a green bar which shows numerical value of 0 to 10 when you move the cursor over it. The value is logarithmic that means, if it takes ten links to reach Page Rank of 1, then it takes much more to reach PR 2. If Google uses logarithmic factor of eight, then it will take about eight links to your site to get to PR 1, about 64 links to reach PR 2, 512 links to PR 3 and so on. This is actually the basic, as this depends on the PR of the page offering the link and the number of other links that leaves the page.
Top reasons which will to generate traffic:
1. The higher the site’s PageRank, then the higher Google will list your site in the search results pages. Google takes the view rather than the other web sites linked to yours, then more relevant content on your web page must be to the topic in hand, otherwise they will not link to you. In fact, the links are to the specific pages in your web site, and not to the site as a whole, which is why it is know as ‘Page Rank’ and not Site Rank!
2. Higher Page Ranks that is more relevant, people will consider
any particular page on your site to be. They will feel much more confident that if they visit your web site they will have their doubts cleared and find better information.
3. High Page Ranks shows that you have greater number of links on those pages of other sites. There are possibilities of other people clicking on these to visit your web site.
4. With higher Page Rank, more people will want you to link to their sites; which means that they will also be linked to their site. They will also provide you with reciprocal link if you need one, which will give you more exposure online. There are factors that you should keep in mind which might affect your Page Rank. The way your domain name exists is important. Look at these domains: www.mydomain.com, www.mydomain.com/index.html, domain.com, domain.com/index.html. They are all of different URLs which will lead to somebody using them to your domain. But search engine spiders will look at them as different URLs, and if you use different ways to write your home page URL, then they will all be separately listed, and all have different Page Ranks. Thus, the page rank for any one of them will be weaker than yours if you had used only one way to express it. Have a habit of expressing your domain only in one way.
Other ways in which poor use of your web site URLs and also indiscreet linking policies might harm your Page Rank, but the main point which you should remember is that the your page rank applies to each and every page individually, and you share the Google’s PageRank of the page which gives you with the link. If that page has zero PR, then you end up getting nothing. Google makes a notice of your Page Rank, otherwise why would they bother giving you a Page Rank in the first place! For this reason, it is well worth building many back links to your web site, not just for traffic, but also to keep your site in public’s eye.
It’s the Home Page which is highest listed on all search engines, and also the page is given the highest PR, so if you can influence other people to link to your home page in return for a link from a page internal to your web site, then that could be a good agreement and this is what you must trying for.
