They used to place a loads of ads on their website before they get a quality traffic. So making money online is easy if you start as a hobby and not for making money.
Non Commercial Profits
You can still earn money from a non-commercial website. All you need to do is to sell your opinions through your website or blog. Now, if you are planning to sell ads then you have to build a strong relationship with your visitors. You can submit your non-commercial website to Yahoo! Directory and DMOZ for free and then once you get top rankings you can place ads on the site and generate money from it
Banner Ads vs Contextual Ads
Today most of the surfers have become banner blind and they simply ignores the banner ads present at the top part of a page. Banners have good conversion rates but today the best way to generate revenue from your website are context based text ads as they do not look like advertisements.
Reviewing Products
The best way to sell a product is to write a review of that product and then include your affiliate link in the review. Say you like a product and then all you have to do is to tell people about it by writing an honest positive review. Give them an opportunity to buy that product from your website. Successful affiliate marketers know that it is easier to sell products if you give a personal unbiased review of that product.
