Finally WordPress 2.3 Is Out Of Beta

The final version of WordPress 2.3 is now ready for download. WordPress released the first beta version of 2.3 on August 28, 2007. Today it’s out of beta and the stable version is available for download.

Features of WordPress 2.3

Native Tagging Support

Now you wont have to depend a third party plug in to add tags to your post. WordPress 2.3 is fully loaded with tagging support. It allows you to add tags to your post in addition to the regular categories.

Update Notification

It notifies you when a new version of WordPress is available for download and also it lets you know when any of the plugins you use is outdated.

Canonical URLs

It enforce your no-www preference and it redirect posts with changed slugs the new post so say goodbye to “page not found error”. And this makes your blog search engine friendly.

Pending Review

This feature is good for blogs which have more than one author. It allows your authors to submit an article or a post for review by an administrator. So if you are an administrator then the drafts saved by your authors are visible to you. You can review that post before it is published.

Advanced WYSIWYG

It allows you to access some features of TinyMCE that were previously hidden.
