Technology has various advantages and disadvantages.  In the modern era, man has made innumerous inventions and discoveries.   It has helped man in many ways.  But it has got serious disadvantages too.  We should utilize technological progress in such a way that would not be detrimental to us in the long-run.  No country can progree without technology and research.

Technology has saved our time.  For example the mode of transport earlier was very difficult.  People used to either walk, or use caravans, horses or camels. We could not imagine a world-tour then. But nowadays we have two-wheelers, 4-wheelers, train and even airplanes.  We can reach any part of the globe anytime.  Our quality of life have also become better because of technology.  We have vehicles, computers, mobile phones,  televisions, mixie, refrigerators and any luxuries.  Even poor people can afford some of the luxuries like tv, radio etc.  The invention of computers and the internet is a very big gain since it has reduced a very great amount of our work and time.  We are able to communicate to any person in any part of the world at any time by phone or internet.  This is one of the greatest achievements of technology.  Life has become easy as compared to our ancestors.

I was surprised to see that now a 1 GB Apple iPod costs just Rs. 2,700. Yes, you can get an MP3 player from eBay for less than Rs. 1,000 but it’s an Apple buddy! I was looking for a Macbook in their Apple Store but I didn’t see any model which is priced below 50k. So I decided to choose one from HP, Compaq, Dell, or Sony Vaio (my preferred brand).
