Today, I’m going to share 10 Yahoo! Search Marketing Tips which you probably don’t know. All the 10 Tips are extracted from the emails I received from Yahoo! Search Marketing Customer Support Team so it’s 100% true.

I. Create a short description for all existing ads to help ensure that the core message of your ad is included when the ad appears in Yahoo! Search results.

II. Follow Yahoo’s editorial guidelines to ensure that your ads go live as soon as possible and provide the highest quality experience to users.

III. Login to your Yahoo! Search Marketing account and use the “insert keyword” feature, to save time and help Yahoo! increase the relevancy and click-through rates of your ads.

IV. Yahoo! Search Marketing will not accept listings for web sites whose primary purpose is the collection of personally identifiable information to be used for consumer or promotional marketing, or related purposes.

V. If you are opening a new account then you will have to deposit some funds into your account, which will be used to pay for your initial click charges. The minimum amount of the deposit is $30.

VI. You are not allowed to utilize the same display URL across multiple accounts.  The system would read an error and only serve one of the accounts.  The URL you employ for your display must be owned and or operated by the account holder.

VII. At the time of review, if they find that your website is violating the aforementioned guidelines then Yahoo! will terminate your account and a refund of $30 (your initial deposit) will be issued to the Credit Card or PayPal account on file.

VIII. If you applied a Promotional Coupon during Sign Up then this credit will be shown in the Billing Transaction Detail report as an Adjustment. To view this report, log into your Yahoo! Search Marketing account and click the Reports tab. Click the Billing Transaction Detail Report and look for the Adjustment line item. (You can select the date range by clicking on the calendar icon located towards the top right of the page.  You can select your own date range or a pre-selected date range).

IX. Generally, when you sign up for an account via a promotion, the link you use will associate your account with the promotional code, which automatically applies the credit within 48 hours. If this does not occur, you can contact the customer support team at Yahoo! with the code to have the credit issued to your account. And, If you applied a promotion code manually by contacting their support team then please allow 3 to 5 business days for this credit to be applied.

X. Yahoo’s guidelines don’t allow you to open multiple accounts using the same Yahoo! Search Marketing promotional link/code/coupon.  Once they locate the account(s) that were opened with the same promotional link/code/coupon and same contact/billing information those accounts will be taken offline for promotional code abuse.

But if you were to create a brand new account which is not associated to any other account you have, then Yes, you may use a different promo code to create a separate account.

In order to open another account and apply another promotion code, you have to sign up for a new account with a new user name and a separate email address.

And Yes, You can use the same Credit Card on as many accounts as you want to create. Thus, there is no limit to the number of accounts an advertiser can fund with a single Credit Card or PayPal account (You can now pay your Yahoo! Search Marketing bill via PayPal), subject to availability of funds in the card.

Yahoo! Search Marketing Customer Solutions team says in an email: “You are more than welcome to open any amount of additional accounts using the same credit card, with any promotional offer that you may have being honored.”

Here is another email from Yahoo! Search Marketing Support Team: “You are able to open separate accounts using a promotional credit if you sign up with the link that offers the Promo Code. If we were to find out that the multiple accounts were created to advertise the same site in each account, the accounts will be taken offline for promotional code abuse. There can only be one promotional code per account and it must be a separate domain and site in each account.”

Still, I see that the $199 Yahoo Search Marketing Credit shows no credit at all on the landing page but at the same time its showing $199 Credit on it’s billing page. So, as it doesn’t show any credits on the landing page it’s risky to follow that because Yahoo! can deny that credit.

Now, I’ve got a $100 Coupon for you. It was earlier a $199 Promo Coupon but now this Promotional Code is good for a $100.00 credit only. But still it’s a deal. When you click $100 Yahoo Search Marketing Credit link you will notice that there is no credit shown on the landing page. But don’t worry it will show $100 Credit on the billing page as shown below. And it is valid.

Here is the response I received from Yahoo! Customer Solutions regarding this $199 Coupon (NOW a $100 Coupon).

“The promotional credit of $199.00 has since expired.  However, the credit is now good for the amount of $100.00 which will be reflected in your account balance tomorrow.

This credit will be shown in the Billing Transaction Detail report as an Adjustment. To view this report, log into your account and click the Reports tab. Click the Billing Transaction Detail Report and look for the Adjustment line item.

Please allow 1-2 business days for the funds to appear as part of your available balance. This credit will be shown in the Billing Transaction Detail report as an Adjustment. If you didn’t get the credit in 72 hours then contact their customer support team from your Yahoo! Search Marketing account.

NOTE: If you don’t see the coupon credit during the sign up process at the billing page as shown above then clear all your cache and temporary internet files and come back to this page and start again. I’ve already posted two $199 Yahoo! Search Marketing Coupon Credits here Yahoo! Search Marketing Coupon Credit $199 and you might have noticed that it’s expired and now the landing page shows no credits at all!

But I found that, if you continue with the registration process by clicking the Sign Up button you will notice that it shows $199 Credit itself on the billing page as shown below even though it doesn’t show any credits on the landing page.
