Google Updates Referrals Policy For AdSense

Google AdSense Official blog had recently announced that they have made certain changes in one of the Google referral products policies. The two major changes made to the referrals pricing structure just impact referrals to the AdSense product. Those changes comprise of:

Changes in Pricing Structure – Pricing structure have been change for the three major countries, North America, Latin America and Japan. In case, you refer someone based on these countries to become an AdSense publisher through Google referral program, you would be earning a lot less. From the last week of January, the payout for referred user that makes $100 with AdSense in the first 180 days would be $100. Whereas earlier, we use to make $5 if the AdSense publisher if referred made $5 in 180 days, along if that publisher makes about $100 with 180 days, you would receive $250 and in case you referred 25 people that generates $100 within 180 days, you were eligible for a bonus of $2,000.

No Commission for publisher outside North America, Latin America, or Japan - Google will no more pay commission to the affiliate that refer publisher to register with AdSense, if that affiliate is based outside North America, Latin America or Japan.  However, this would impact the AdSense referral product and does not impact the referral products of AdWords, Checkout and others.

    I Love Google

Google Knol is a Latter-day Wikipedia?

According to official blog of Google it is coming up with a creative method of sharing knowledge called Google “Knol”. It is especially designed to allow users to contribute content/articles on any topic of their interest. Other users would be allowed to rate, comment, or edit on the content/articles if the primary author allows. This sounds like Google is reinventing Wikipedia with a new name called Google Knol. However, Google says that a Knol is a “unit of knowledge,” which is in turn an attempt to gather and share human knowledge.
