Gmail vs. Cloud: Here’s Why I Still Use Gmail As A Cloud Storage

It’s not a secret that a Gmail user turns into a Gmail addict very soon. I was very much obsessed with Gmail the past 8 years or so but finally managed to switch to Outlook.com (the new Hotmail) last year.

Gmail by Google

I love Outlook.com because of its fresh, clean and intuitive interface but I miss several powerful features offered by Gmail. The first one being the "Search". So today I’m going to focus on Gmail search and going to tell you why I love Gmail search.

Dear Google, Should I Focus On Content Creation Or DMCA Takedowns?

As a blogger, should I focus on content creation or spend enormous time on finding content scrapers and then for filing DMCA Takedown notices? Please advice…

Confused

I’m very much annoyed that you continue giving higher ranking to content scrapers even after your so-called algorithmic updates Panda, Penguin, Caffeine, etc. I completely understand when a higher authority website outranks ours even for an exact match "title search".

But there’s no excuse when a spammy content scraper website continues to outrank the original blog posts. Recently you published a Webmaster video where Matt Cutts explains how Google finds it difficult to find the real author of an article.

My 18 Suggestions To Outlook.com: Microsoft, Are You Listening?

I was obsessed with Google and Gmail was my e-mail hub even as a Microsoft fanatic. But with the launch of Windows 8 things have changed as I finally migrated to more Microsoft services (Outlook.com, OneNote, SkyDrive, etc.) from Google (Gmail, Notebook, Google Drive, etc.). And now I really love my Outlook.com Inbox (thanks to Windows Live Admin Center).

Outlook.com

Today, the only thing by Google that I really use is the Google search apart from their tools and products (AdSense, AdWords, Analytics, Webmaster Tools, etc.) for marketers and webmasters.

Top 5 E-mail Apps For Your iPhone (& iPad Too)

iPhone Apps

No one can deny the fact that the default Mail app on your iPhone and iPad isn’t perfect. It’s just an e-mail client that’s good only to check mails and thanks to its push notifications so that you’re notified in real-time about new e-mail messages.

Now here are the top 5 non-Apple e-mail apps for your iPhone and iPad. I’ve personally tried the Mailbox app and it’s the perfect e-mail app for Gmail + iPhone (Mailbox supports only Gmail as of now). Google Affiliate Network Is Shutting Down! But Who Cares?

Google announced that they’re retiring Google Affiliate Network. It’s the second time they’re retiring their affiliate network.

Google Affiliate Network

And it appears like Google either wants publishers to focus on AdSense program or their affiliate network is a disaster and they’re closing it down by saying that “We’ve made the difficult decision to retire Google Affiliate Network and focus on other products that are driving great results for clients.

But anyways I don’t think that this news is going to worry any of the advertisers or publishers as we already have tons of alternate affiliate networks that are much better than the Google Affiliate Network.

Dear Google, Now Please Don’t Bring Back Your Google Reader…

…Now that Google Reader is almost dead. As you probably know Google announced last month that they’re officially shutting down its popular RSS reader, Google Reader, on July 1st, 2013. My reaction was almost the same as Hitler’s reaction.

Hitler finds out Google Reader is shutting down

But now I no longer care about Google Reader and in fact I don’t want Google to bring back their Google Reader as Feedly is just too awesome. Feedly is the biggest winner with Google Reader’s death as over 3 million new users have joined Feedly ever since the announcement of Google Reader’s death.

30 Default iPhone Apps By Apple And Its Great Alternatives

Apple iPhone

You know one reason (or perhaps the primary reason) why people prefer an iPhone over Android is that you get the best quality hardware and software from Apple with apps like Siri, iMessage, FaceTime, etc. that’s not available for Android. That’s not all! You also get the first-class versions of all official apps by various vendors.

As you probably know few apps by Google work better on iOS than Android. When Google released Maps for iOS, several sources claimed that Google Maps for iOS is better than Android version. And this report suggests that Google’s apps run better on the iPad mini than the Nexus 7.

So it really means that you don’t have to buy an Android phone for the sake of apps. When you buy a phone you’re really investing in its ecosystem. And that’s the primary reason why people say they’re switching to Android or iOS instead of mentioning the brand name of a phone.
