Yahoo has taken the “beta” label off its new mail. Here’s an overview from the Yodel Anecdotal blog. The new Yahoo Mail, said Yahoo, offers new speed and performance enhancements as well as an expansion of the search refinement features.
Yahoo! Mail and its biggest competitors, Google Inc.’s Gmail and Microsoft Corp.’s Hotmail, are adding features to attract and keep users. Yahoo is the first of the three to offer free text messages, after adding more storage and instant messaging in February to match some features provided by its rivals.
Arguably the most interesting aspect of the new features is the inclusion of the capability of sending text messages to mobile phones from Yahoo Mail. The service is currently available to mobile phone users in the US, Canada, India and the Philippines.
The text messaging feature is integrated into the interface and works in almost exactly the same way as standard emailing, but users enter a phone number instead of an email address. Each message is limited to 150 characters.
Unlike a traditional email inbox, the system creates an instant message style interface to allow users to track the course of the conversation.
Users also have the option of connecting to their contacts via Yahoo Messenger or Windows Live Messenger through the Mail interface.
They can also convert email messages into IM chats or switch to a text message dialogue if the person they are chatting to comes online or goes mobile.
Moreover, in the U.S., the new Yahoo Mail will also gain a feature called Shortcuts that has been available in the “classic” version of the service. This feature lets the system automatically recognize things such as dates and addresses, giving people the option of adding the information to their Yahoo Calendar or Contacts list, launching Web searches and displaying a map inside the Yahoo Mail interface.

With information available anywhere, you need to make sure that you attract them first with a rich content. Instead of trying to impress your visitor using tough language, try to communicate with them with a simple style that catches the attention of your visitors.
Foremost of all, know who your customers are and try to come out with topics that are of interest to them. Keep in mind that the visitor would not be reading the entire content of the webpage. He would be searching for something that is beneficial to him and at the first glance if he don’t find it he would move over to other pages. So do every possible thing to serve the need of your visitor.
The first few lines on your page must prove that you are different from others. Focus on helping the customers realize on the benefits that they are going to attain.
The steps in creating a webpage would include finding out a main theme for your website which should be followed by a list of sub topics. Each sub-topic should be evaluated with care as to whether it pertains to the main theme. Then decide on which topic is to be treated first. Then in the order of their importance find articles for your topics.
It is not necessary that you should write the entire articles by yourself. You can have a ghost writer or borrow articles from sites that provide thousands of free articles on just any topic of your interest. You can find these articles at Ezine Articles, Article City, Find Articles, and Go Articles. Once you have the relevant articles the next step is to create a webpage with each article. Also create an article table of content to make it easier for your visitor to properly navigate to find what they want.
It is also very important that you keep the contents of your website updated.
