Writing is fun, isn’t it? Well, the percentage goes equally, some may like writing and some may not. However, people that own a blog or a website must consider having some good and readable post. Most of the rules about blog writing for newsletters and journals go with blog post also, but there are some major differences. I had just listed top 10 tips to write an excellent blog post that can bring traffic to your site and blog.

1. Speak what you think - People enjoy reading blogs, because they are been written by people and not by any corporations. People desire to know what others think, so tell them precisely what you actually think with the least amount of words likely.
2. Let your post be valuable – People do not like wasting time, if you do not have anything valuable and worthwhile saying no problem, lots of people have. So share others articles or do an interview basis or review any book you like.
3. Link your post – Support your blog post with some good links to other web pages, which are contextual to your blog post.
4. Avoid Mistakes – Am sure you would not like to go out of your house with dirty hair or horribly dressed, so why will you make a post with mistakes? Do respect your visitors and readers by publishing quality content.
5. Make it short and easy – You might have dozens to say, but understand people are on web and may have very less time to spend on your site. Get your point deviled quickly, making it short essay with frequently posted is better than posting lengthy with few articles a week.
6. Make it 250 words – Remember one may forget a long post and short post is exactly opposite. Give maximum info with least words, 250 words is enough. 
7. Title needs to be catchy – This is important; include your complete summary in your title. Try reading local newspaper to see how it is done.
8. Don’t forget Keywords – The blog space is yours, litter it as much as possible with your targeted keywords. Think about what phrase people might use to search for your blog post and comprise them in the Title and body. Make sure the keyword placement is very natural and does not seem inappropriate.
9. Be casual – One you have a blog be very casual in your writing, write like you are talking to somebody. It’s absolutely fine to make use of common expressions from speech.
10. Edit before posting – Before you actually click on publish button, do re-read your post and eliminate the stuff that you do not need it. After all great writing is in editing.
